How much does a wedding tuxedo cost in San Diego?
Renting is the usual route. A full tuxedo or suit rental package typically runs $150 to $300 per person, with around $200 a fair middle. That normally covers the jacket, trousers, shirt, tie, vest or cummerbund and accessories.
Buying instead of renting generally starts around $400 to $600 for an off-the-rack suit, $800 to $1,500 for something well made, and considerably more for made-to-measure. Insist on trying everything on at least a week before the wedding, not the day before. Reputable companies build this into their schedule; if yours does not, set the date yourself. A week gives time to fix a wrong size. A day does not.
Read the damage terms. Rental contracts hold you responsible for the garment, and a spilled drink at the reception is exactly the scenario the waiver exists for. Decide deliberately whether to take it.
One local note: San Diego afternoons run warm and evenings by the water run cool. A lightweight wool in a lighter colour is more comfortable than a heavy black tuxedo for most daytime weddings here, and photographs better in bright sun.
